Earlier in the summer John Gallery of Great Potential extended an invitation to all ACE members to a three day experience in Yorkshire. Janet Killilea from J K Event Management and Punita Aga from Glasgows decided to take John up on his offer and experience a bit of Yorkshire hospitality for themselves. They comment on their findings as follows:

The Future of Event Education, Training & CPD PDF Print E-mail

The University of Derby Corporate recently supported the Taking the Pulse Conference in London.
The aim of the event was to capture the views of industry experts who between them represent  substantial portion of the events sector.

The Conference universally agreed the need for a CPD programme that allowed all in the events industry - regardless of age, present qualifications and experience - to participate in a flexibly delivered and comprehensive fashion. Existing skills and experience need to be recognised and accredited and a way of allowing this to occur needed to be established with the agreement of those in the industry.

These views have been collated into a consultative document which is available for download below.

A final report will be produced and circulated to all respondents in January 2010 with a view to working towards an Events Industry CPD Programme by Autumn 2010.
