The latest confirmation of sports celebrities attending the Laureus World Sports Awards include Paul Collingwood, Tim Henman, Denise Lewis and Sir Matthew Pinsent, the 4time gold medallist.

They will be joining a host of Laureus Academy Members, Ambassadors, Nominees and sporting greats at the event, including Boris Becker, Sir Bobby Charlton, Nadia Comaneci, Sean Fitzpatrick, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Dame Kelly Holmes, Edwin Moses, Martina Navratilova, Sir Steve Redgrave, Mark Spitz and Daley Thompson.

Launched in 2010, The Conference Awards have already become the event for the conference and event sector in the UK. The 2012 event promises even more: hosted by Nick Hewer, he of the withering look from The Apprentice, and taking place at The Brewery on Friday 15th June 2012, this high profile ceremony will reward and recognise the best of the best from across all sectors of the industry.

Recommendations from an independent panel for widespread deregulation of the tourism and hospitality industries were published last week (24th January 2012). The proposals, which cover areas such as planning and use classes regulations, travel insurance, food labelling, health and safety rules, employment restrictions in the tourism sector, licensing and many other areas of concern to the industry, will now be considered across Government.
