My first job was with The Law Society where I worked for 4 years covering a number of their events including The Law Society’s Annual Conference and various events for their Commerce and Industry Group and Solicitors European Group.
I hold a Diploma in Management Studies and a Masters Degree in Operations Management and I gained this with Distinction.
For the last 27 years I worked for the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and 7 years ago was promoted to Head of Department to run their Courses and Conferences business. This is a very rewarding, if challenging, job as there are always commercial revenue targets to be achieved.
On the 1st March 2010 the Courses and Conferences business was transferred to BPP Professional Education and I have been Head of Operations for Finance and Tax post qualifying education since then and still very much involved in the interface of business between CIMA and BPP in this area.
On May 7th 2010 I was elected local Councillor for the London Borough of Merton and this has been very interesting and rewarding to learn how local government works.
