Director
Joy Montmorency has 36 years experience of organising conferences and events. She is the former Executive Chairman of The Association for Conferences & Events (ACE) and is still a member of ACE’s governing Council. She is on the Board of the Tourism Society and a member of the Steering Committee of the Events Industry Forum (EIF) and a Senate member of the Genesis Initiative for Small Business.
Prior to entering the conference and event industry Joy had a background of public relations, advertising, retail, and the antique silver and jewellery trade.
Whilst Executive Chairman of ACE, amongst several other initiatives, Joy started the Careers Fair for the Conference & Events Industry, the ACE Breakfast Networking Club and her own Training Course ‘So You Want to be a Conference Organiser’. She was also responsible for the monthly ACE Newsletter and for establishing networking events and for liaising with other associations.
Apart from assisting generally with running of the Association, Joy is currently involved with the ACE Bursary in honour of Geoffrey Gray-Forton, ACE’s founder. This Bursary will offer one person who is hoping to enter, or who has recently entered, the conference & events industry to take up a training course to further their career. It is hoped to launch this as part of ACE’s 40th anniversary in 2011
